Plagiarism

All submitted manuscripts must be free from plagiarism. Authors are strongly encouraged to use plagiarism detection software to assess the similarity of their manuscripts before submission. The editorial team screens all submitted manuscripts using plagiarism detection tools such as Grammarly Plagiarism Checker and iThenticate. The maximum acceptable similarity index is 25%, in accordance with the regulations established by the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.

 

Definition

Plagiarism is the intentional or unintentional act of obtaining academic credit or recognition by using part or all of another person's work and/or scientific publication without proper acknowledgment, citation, or attribution of the original source.

 

Therefore:

 

Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Any material taken from other sources, whether directly quoted or paraphrased, must be properly identified and cited, ensuring that the submitted manuscript is distinguishable from the original source.

 

If plagiarism is identified, the Editor-in-Chief is responsible for reviewing the case and determining the appropriate action based on the severity of the plagiarism, according to the following guidelines:

 

Levels of Plagiarism

 

Type 1 Plagiarism: Copying short passages or sentences from another source without proper citation or acknowledgment.

Action : PThe author will receive a warning and be requested to revise the manuscript by properly citing and referencing the original source.

 

Type 2 Plagiarism: Copying a substantial portion of another work without proper citation, acknowledgment, or attribution to the original source.

Action: The submitted manuscript will be rejected for publication in JAKAKOM. In addition, the author(s) may be subject to sanctions, including a temporary or permanent prohibition from submitting future manuscripts to JAKAKOM.

Author Responsibility

All authors are responsible for the content of the manuscripts they submit to JAKAKOM. If a submitted manuscript is found to contain plagiarism, all listed authors will be subject to the same sanctions.

If an author is found to have submitted the same manuscript simultaneously to JAKAKOM and another journal, and the overlap is discovered during the review process or after publication, the case will be treated as Type 2 Plagiarism and handled accordingly.

If plagiarism is identified in forms not specifically covered by the categories above, the editors reserve the right to impose appropriate sanctions in accordance with the policies and decisions of the JAKAKOM Editorial Board.
