Untuk dapat mengelola sumber daya manusia memerlukan pengelolaan yang efisien dan juga efektif di perguruan tinggi yang mempunyai banyak karyawan staff dan dosen tentu membutuhkan sistem informasi. Sistem informasi akan dapat mempercepat dan mempermudah pekerjaan, terutama dalam mendapatkan informasi penting untuk proses pengambilan keputusan oleh manajemen. Model Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) merupakan kerangka kerja berdasarkan arsitektur sistem yang dapat mengintegrasikan data yang disimpan secara ketat hanya di lokasi yang berbeda atau sumber yang berbeda. Sistem Informasi Izin Cuti Dosen dan staf di perguruan tinggi dapat mempermudah pihak manajemen perguruan tinggi dalam mengambil keputusan terkait dengan menerima atau menolak izin cuti dosen dan staf di perguruan tinggi dan juga mempermudah dosen yang ingin mengajukan izin cuti.
